Google shift underscores importance of mobile Web design
02 Jul 2015

“My website, my email magazine, my blog, my books, my corporate seminars, and my public seminars all create the ability for social media to work and all build reputation and ranking.” (Jeffrey Gitomer)

SEO was never isolated yet for now Google made it prominent and announced that mobile staging is a part of SEO. This created a fuss in SERPs and other tycoon business companies and they started to amend their SEO policies for the prevention of loss of ranks from the search results.

Content

From 2015, not only qualitative content and keywords will let the search engines crawl within the websites but the rankings of Google for content and query will be broaden due to an additional factor of mobile friendliness. Those websites that are easily optimized on mobile platforms will probably gain better ranking in Google’s search results. As a major announcement, it is quite visible that a number of companies have responded positively to this addition and 5% companies have amended their SEO policies with a significant addition of mobile friendliness to support websites in a better manner on the mobile screens.

Search rankings

For obtaining better search rankings, headings, Meta tags, titles, keywords and Meta data is usually added within the content for the bots to easily grasp and identify the available information. Qualitative content indeed is a potent factor in terms of Google’s ranking. However, from now on qualitative content will not let you gain positive search rankings since Google will now rate how the websites are optimized and displayed on the mobile screens. The better the perfection of the website on the mobile platform is the higher the search rankings are.

What web masters must do?

Web masters should have to little over do their websites due to ‘mobilegeddon’. Mobilegeddon is the name allotted to the announcement made by Google for supporting mobile friendliness or mobile friendly sites. Recent trends of web designs should be followed upon. Robust images and easily clickable graphics should be involved. Links should be added but 2 links should not be too close to one another. Text should be large and readable for supporting small screen sizes. Too much text and too much images should be avoided since too many images with high pixel might consume time which will again make you lose customers. White space and visual elements should be simplified. The frequency of media should be enhanced. Mobile websites should be more task oriented and highly personalized.

It is time that website owners and web masters should start dealing with this announcement of Google to better cope up with the lost users because if they didn’t cope up now they might lose their spot in the world of websites as of today.

“Most people who end up being successful have good grades, but it's orthogonal - there's no extra information than if they put together a website and have bunch of fans who love coming and seeing what they're doing.” (Gabe Newell)
