“We’ve been very frustrated with the state of open-source eCommerce” we knew it could be done better.” (Roy Rubin)

Almost all the countries have adopted the technology of eCommerce. However, Pakistan being a late recruit in the field of eCommerce and it seems that Pakistan’s entry is pretty smashing.  Recently, approximately $20 million had been recorded to be spent on online sales within Pakistan’s premises. This clearly depicts a very bright future of Pakistan in terms of eCommerce and online sales. Due to which it has been expected that by the next year probably the eCommerce business of Pakistan will grow to approximately $600 million.

In China as well, the eCommerce industry is blossoming to great limits with the help of Alibaba and other eCommerce websites thus augmenting the overall ratio of eCommerce capitalization.

Competition

Though the eCommerce industry of Pakistan still needs a lot of improvement and should meet a number of needs and whims in order to elevate the status of eCommerce for competing it in global eCommerce competition. The current backwardness to Pakistan’s eCommerce business is due to Internet restriction as according to a source it was revealed that Internet to only 30 million Pakistanis is accessible which will reach to 56 million users by 2019 onwards.

3G and LTE

A little elevation in the eCommerce status bar was witnessed in 2014 this was because to Pakistan a new series of technology in the form of LTE and 3G was introduced which ascended the accessibility of Internet to users. Also, the broadband service provided to Pakistanis is also one step forward in the proliferation of Internet throughout the nation.

Marketing and social trends

28% more population in the coming five years will be able to access hinder free internet. Hence, it has been assumed that with greater number of users using the internet will definitely swing the marketing and social trends upside down thus allowing new trends to emerge and explore the Pakistan’s eCommerce  business.

The proliferation of eCommerce business will not only broaden the scope and business of online sales but also open flood gates to a number of new opportunities including online job opportunities, property, online transactions etc.

“Ecommerce leaders will have to keep with these changes (and others) to survive and stay ahead.” (Linda Bustos)
