“SEO is just the way you are.” (Willy Merdiansyah)

I have written a number of articles, the content of which revolves around the basic phenomenon of search engine optimization. You all might have learned so far what actually SEO is and why its credibility is elevated so much.

Search Engine Optimization has the basic task of grabbing users. It does this by letting these users acknowledge what they actually want by the usage of on page optimization, off page optimization, keyword density and click through rate.

Off page optimization

You must be wondering that off page optimization is more or less related to offline webpages through which users can get most of it. Nay! Off page optimization results in the appearance of your webpages in the top most ranks in the natural search results. These factors are said ‘off-page’ since these factors do not depend upon the coding casted by you or indirectly these factors that lead to the ranking in natural results are not controlled by you in any way. These factors include link popularity and page rank. If pondered upon, these factors cannot be controlled by you since you cannot determine what rank will your webpage gain or how much appreciation and popularity will your website gain.

On page optimization

On the contrary, on page optimization refers to those factors that can be controlled by you on one hand and these factors have profound effects on the ranks and web listings as well. These factors can be controlled by the coding on your page. Meta tagging, HTML coding, keyword density etc. are the examples of on page optimization. These can be controlled by you directly or indirectly.

Keyword density

Keyword density is the frequency of the keywords that are repeated in the context comparable with the total number of words in the context. Keyword density can determine as to whether a page is significant with reference to the keyword or not. Today, one must not augment the usage of keywords beyond a certain limit, else penalty will be charged.

In the early days of search engine optimization, keyword density was the utmost factor in determining the ranks of the web page in the search results. However, with time it became less significant.

Click through rate

Click through rate helps in determining the success of a given online advertising campaign along with the success of an email marketing campaign by counting the number of clicks on a specific link or URL address. Greater the number of clicks, the successful the campaign has been in diverging or bringing the customers towards the emergent source or the website.

These are collectively termed as SEO terminologies which can measure the success of a website, can elevate the success of the website and can also hide the website from initial page ranking on the search engines.

“Social is the way our work gets discovered. Content that is truly exceptional, unique and useful can earn tremendous awareness through social media, and that social amplification leads to great links, which leads to great rankings.” (Rand Fishkin)
