Medicine and Technology! What a combo. Thanks Google!

I have googled 'how long does heartbreak last?' The result more popular than that was 'how long does heartburn last?' This implies people suffer from heartburn more than they do from heartbreak which is a good thing because heartbreak sucks way fucking more than acid reflux ever could.” (Alexa Chung)

Technology is gliding and transforming our lives. Technology so far has showed tremendous success and growth in almost every field. Medicine has also been transformed into a broader scale by technology due to which many medicines and procedures have cured many diseases and syndromes epidemically round the globe.

Google which has proved to be a blessing for mankind on Earth has not only aided us in terms of research and linking purposes but has aided men in many facets of technology i.e. medicine, smart phones, application stores etc.

Contacts

Google has recently made a recent proclamation of ‘Google contact lenses’. The lenses are specialized with a purpose of scrutiny of the glucose level in the tears of diabetic patients. The project of ‘smart lenses by Google’ was proclaimed on 16th January, 2014.

These lenses have a miniaturized glucose sensor and a wireless antenna along with a wireless chip. This entire system is embedded between the two lens sheets as a safe measure for the safeguard and protection of the iris and pupil.

Experiments and other fundamental researches have been made in order to incorporate LED into the lens which will eventually stipulate the substantial increment or reduction in the blood glucose level from a defined threshold.

Novartis

In addition to Google, Novartis has also been working over this project in collaboration with Google.A person affected with diabetesdoes not able to deal with sugar due to inadequate or no production of insulin which happens to be a sugar regulating hormone.

Intraocular

These lenses can be used as an alternative for normal lenses used to clear short sightedness. In addition to inspecting the blood glucose level, blur vision will be eventually rectified after wearing this technology.

The major purpose of this technology and other wearable technologies as emphasized by Google is to embrace the patients to have a check on them without an external aid.

Approach to replace glucose monitors

This lens was fundamentally projected in order to replace the existed glucose monitors which required the blood of the patients via pricking their finger tips.

It is an easy and very substantial technological medical device regardless of any damage to the user.

“With Google I'm starting to burn out on knowing the answer to everything. People in the year 2020 are going to be nostalgic for the sensation of feeling clueless.” (Douglas Coupland)
