New from Google: Google’s SEO Services (BETA)

DoubleClick and Google – Beginning of fraudulent search results

After Google’s acquisition of DoubleClick, Google’s CEO, Larry Page decided to keep the Performics division working in order to see how they would provide the SEM and SEO services. The other Google execs however, noticed the conflict of interest that would arise hence they overrode the ambitious plans of Larry Page by stating that he (the CEO) just wanted to experiment and see how things would proceed with this acquisition.

Webmasters however don’t buy this statement though and are well aware of the monopoly that Google is aiming at establishing. They believe that Google is aiming to change the free ecosystem of unbiased Search Results by adapting the policy of pay us to play, or go away.

This scenario is being highlighted because if the search engine implements this and steps in the SEO business, then, the small website holders would be hard pressed to obtain a good spot in the search results.

It has always been noticed that whenever a monopoly is established, the one with the lawyers and media in their pockets can get away with a pardon, whereas the smaller firms would be slaughtered in this game.

Google and Auction.com – Will this be a similar scenario?

A similar event occurred a while ago when google decided to make crackdowns against guest posts. A site having a single useful guest post received a site-widepenalty; however a certain website Auction.com was given a clean chit and declared perfectly okay. Now you must have the question in mind as to why a particular website was granted peace.

It was because, one month prior to the guest post crack down, the website, Auction.com received a $50 Million dollar investment from the search giant, Google itself.

Policy

So under these circumstances the failed logic and policy of Google was quite visible. The policy is something like:

One: If you publish a singleguest post on your website and you don’t have Google on your side, you risk getting a site wide penalty.

Two: If you side with Google and allow them to have controlling interest to the direction of your company, they will make all your problems disappear and instead let you publish various duplicated guest posts without penalizing your website at all.

The point of highlighting this entire case was to elucidate how Google wishes to own the web industry by manipulating and selectively enforcing its policies inclusive of illustrating an experienced route to SEO, allowing big profiled companies to gain an upper hand on the competition while the low end websites to mitigate their existences from the cyber industry.

“When our bones are dust, our search engine history will be the fossil record of our lives. The internet is our benevolent overbearing mother walking in on us in the shower. We just shout about the invasion of privacy – but it’s the only way she can fully measure our development.” (Bauvard, Morsels)
