Common mistakes that web designers make

“Google has placed its faith in data, while Apple worships the power of design. This dichotomy made the two companies complementary. Apple would ship the phones and computers, while Google would provide Maps, Search, YouTube, and other web tools that made the devices more useful.” (Ben Parr)

Domain is not the only characteristic of a good web design. Content and a number of essentialcharacteristics are also of utmost significance while talking web design. Websites which are clearly responsive have appropriate domain name, high user friendliness and impactful design inclusive of recent trends and latest informative content relevant to the subject.

Despite of my recurrent blogs on the significance of web design and website having necessary implemented strategies, many web designers still tend to repeat the same mistakes as they are used to do in the past. They do not feel it weighty to consider a second option or an opinion from a web expert owing to particular industry.

Below are certain mistakes that a web designer MUST avoid in order to attain proper results in terms of revenue and promotion;

·         Cascading style sheet

Proper use of cascading style sheet also known as CSS is one of the prerequisite of web developmental plan. A professional and fine tinge can be given to any website by the incorporation of steady CSS since it will help the users to browse the website instantaneously without irrelevant pauses.

·         Newspaper

Most of the designers depict the layout for their websites from the newspapers thereby creating a messy and chaotic style to their websites in which the user is easily lost without getting the necessary information he is looking for. These designers failed to add the relevant information and instead add much grumpy information which is probably insubstantial.  With the inclusion of so much grumpy information, more often the alignment is also missing which is the biggest drawback in adjustments.

·        Rainbow scheme

Designers also have to understand that their websites are not canvas that whatever ludicrous design they want they can illustrate and create a maze of the website with no terminal point. Color scheme does matter for good but rainbow scheme is seriously not a solution. Particularly, white backgrounds with 2 to 3 shades of any color are selected depending upon the age group which is under consideration.

·         Contact us link

Many designers sketch out some of the best and highly result oriented web developmental plans but still their websites lack behind. This is because these designers failed to accommodate the direct link to contact us page or call to action page. Pages without this link probe users to search for the contact us page, wasting their time and energy hence discarding the website as junk with the unsuccessful attempt of searching for the contact us bar. For letting users easily contact u, highlight the contact us link at every page.

“The original idea of the web was that it should be a collaborative space where you can communicate through sharing information.” (Tim Berners-Lee)
