Gadgets and Us: Lets Play!

“I was not into technology and computers. Well, SpiralClick has dragged me into it. And now I am no less than a freak of it.” (Asila Paras)

We have been thoroughly encircled by a world dictated by technology in the form of gadgets. Gadgets are nowadays nothing but a vivid source of addiction which has grasped the immunity of humans. With time, gadgets are increasing quantitatively and qualitatively.

A lot of us are familiar with the gadgets too mainstream these days i.e. Phablets, Smartphones, Xbox, PSP, Play stations, wearable technological medical devices, iPods, television, refrigerator etc. Apart from these there are many gizmos which are of extreme amaze but majority of us are not aware of their amazement.

Also, with the help of jQuery and Social Media, the exposure of these gadgets spreads like rapid fire.

History

A gadget is a machine and a tool which is made for the convenience and ease of human life and is unique in all other senses. Gadgets are also referred to as gizmos.

The history of the word ‘gadget’ goes back to 19th century. There are many contradictions regarding the origin of the word and still there is no complete evidence as to when this word was used particularly.

Do you know that atomic bombs were also primarily designated as ‘the gadget’ by the scientists of Manhattan Project!

Flexible printed batteries

Of the recent gadget that has amazed me at its utmost are the flexible batteries. These batteries are currently in progress in order to bolster the wearable technological and medical devices. These batteries are in the form of extremely twisted structure laminated by ultra thin zinc polymers.

Why lithium is replaced by zinc in the lamination of these batteries? Most batteries that are used in laptops and smartphones are made up of lithium which is a very reactive metal and has to be coated in order to prevent its reaction with irrelevant substances. Whereas, zinc is lighter in weight and need no subsequent bulk.

Cortana

You might be puzzled wondering as to why I wrote a name of a girl? Well, I wrote this word ‘Cortana’ because this feature is incorporated into your windows phone. Cortana is your personal assistant that will help you and guide you whenever you need any aid.

Why I mention this here? I mentioned this here because hiring a personal assistant is really expensive. Also no PA’s are available 24*7. But this personal assistant is as far as a click and is available 24*7 at your service. She will guide you and will prevent you in case of any bad circumstances. She will also remind you and will make sure of your optimistic interests. Isn’t that cool?

“Dreams about the future are always filled with gadgets.” (Neil deGrasse Tyson)

Family-Friendly features

After reading this blog you might wonder and smirk for a moment that these headings are pretty much funny. I guess I will be adding more spices to my upcoming blogs.

A new feature in the Toyotas minivan is installed that I found pretty much family friendly. This feature allows the drivers to communicate with the people sitting on the back seats. A microphone is connected to an amplifier which will amplify the voice of the driver. This route is one way and the voices will not be amplified of the people sitting at the back.

Parents are now able to yell at their naughty children being nosy and defiant in car with the perks that their children cannot yell back no matter how much they want to.

“A new gadget that lasts only five minutes is worth more than an immortal work that bores everyone.” (Francis Picabia)
