How do i Analyze my Blog Conversion Rate?
15 Jan 2015

“Creating something out of thin air is easy. Its finding the air that’s hard.”

Everybody these days, talks about how content is driving their businesses forwards. How SEO implementation has boosted the audience that they targeted every day. Even though this statement holds true for many businesses but the question that raises up in everyone’s mind is how would one know for sure whether their business is being content driven or not. That makes one question, whether they should actually suffer from the lack of data and talk about their business based on assumptions. The clear answer to that is no.

Google Analytics and how it helps

Here is when Google Analytics come into play, Google Analytics lets you determine whether your blog is helping your business or not.

There are many people who blog regularly and it is interesting to keep track of how your blogging activity is affecting your website in the online search results. It must be remembered that in Conversion Optimization there are a few unchangeable rules that apply to each and every business belonging to any market. There are moments when conversion would yield a high rate in one market, whereas in the other market it would lead to a downfall of the rate.

Normal Conversion Rates

It should be kept in mind that the conversion rate isn’t very high (and it’s normal to not be very high). It mainly depends on the conversion that you are measuring.

The main question, however, is how your blog is affecting the conversion rate. Is the blog giving a positive impact on the conversion rate or a negative one?

This query could be resolved by implementing a simple technique of Advanced Segments.

People who don’t see the blog, they convert at a rate of 0.65%

People who land directly on the blog page convert at a rate of 0.08%

People who land on the homepage or any other page and then decide to navigate to the blog page these convert at a rate of 1.6%.

Negative Impact on Conversion Rates

Like we said earlier, there are moments when having a blog might adversely affect your website reputation. The conversion rate could also yield a negative impact on your website and that happens in one of the following scenarios.

a.       The blog was written with poor grammar or failed to convey the point.

b.      The blog was written so perfectly that it diverted the user’s attention and they forgot to convert.

c.       The blog lacks any conversion points.

d.      The blog contained offensive comments which were not adequately moderated.

e.      The blog deviated from the topic and the visitor’s actual query wasn’t resolved.

f.        The blog logo links back to the homepage of the blog instead of the site and the visitor cannot get back to the site and hence fails to convert.

Hence adequate research must be done in order to get the perfect sweetness for your blog.

2.       After importing the advanced segments you need to edit them to fit in with your blog. If your blog is somewhere else you will need to edit the filter, however if it is in a folder called blog, you will not need to make any changes.

3.       Each of the advanced segments must be edited to match your blog URLs.

Now let the tools do their thing while they assess your webpage for everything.
